Hi, I'm Wren. I have spent a number of years wanting a breast reduction, not only to improve my physical health, but also to help my mental health. I have been struggling with chronic rashes and bruising from the size of my chest. I am no longer able to wear sports bras comfortably and can't afford the custom bras I would need to some what mitigate these problems. I also struggle with significant back, shoulder, and chest pain from the almost 10 pounds of weight im currently carrying on my chest. more recently I've been losing circulation and my breasts have been turning purple due to the poor vascular health they have at this size.
my surgeon is hoping to bring me from an almost K cup size down to a D/DD. this would be life changing for me. I have a number of physical health struggles currently. and being able to remove one of those would be massively helpful for me.
I have now started the process and while my application for OHIP funding is being submitted, even if I get approval there is another few thousand dollars that will have to paid out of pocket.
While I am going to try to save as much of the chunk of money on my own, I am currently limited on how much I can work due to some other factors. And until I can get some supplementary income I only make around $800 a month.
I may also need a home nurse dependent on how surgery goes and will be required to take at minimum a month off work post surgery.
My goal for funds is set to cover the cost of surgery, as well as any post surgical expenses that may come up (garments, potential costs of home visits, medical gear, lost income, transportation to follow ups)
Thank you
