Wrap Them in Love — Clothing for Buwofu’s Orphaned Children

In the village of Buwofu, Uganda, many orphaned and homeless children have only one set of clothes — often torn, worn out, or too small. Some have no proper shirts, warm layers, or changes of clothes at all.

Clothing is more than fabric — it’s dignity, protection, and comfort. Safety.

This campaign supports Tenderheart Children’s Initiative, led by Joshua Mbogoli, to provide new, clean clothing for every child in his care. From shirts and dresses to underwear and sweaters, your generosity will wrap these children in love and care.

Clothing Costs

(Estimated based purchases from Jinja markets)

T-Shirts / Tops: C$3–C$6 each, 2 per child → C$6–C$12

Shorts / Skirts / Pants: C$4–C$8 each, 1–2 per child → C$4–C$16

Dresses (girls): C$8 each

Underwear: C$3–C$5 per child

Sweaters / Warm Layers: C$6–C$10 per child

Transport & Delivery: C$40 per trip (for trips from Jinja to Buwofu)

Total Estimated Cost Per Child:

C$20-$30

However we are very good at making the money stretch!

This covers new clothes, transport, and essentials for every child.

How Purchases Are Made

To ensure the best prices and timely delivery:

Essential clothing items are bought directly by Joshua in the nearest city center (Jinja), where he coordinates local purchasing and delivery to Buwofu.

If we receive large donations and are able to make bulk orders we do this from Online marketplaces that ship to Jinja, or negotiate with local vendors for bulk purchases.

This flexible approach helps stretch every donation dollar and makes sure the children get what they need, when they need it.

Transparency & Partnership

It is a joy to work with Joshua and to provide full transparency on all transactions. The funds raised here are delivered directly to Joshua, who coordinates purchasing and delivery of clothing on site in Buwofu.

We are currently working to register Tenderheart Children’s Initiative with the NGO Board in Uganda. This process can be slow, especially for those living in rural areas. Our primary focus remains on resource delivery while we navigate the registration process.
