Faith, Family, and a Fight Against Brain Cancer

Hello, my name is Jaedon, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my family during one of the most difficult seasons of our lives. It is not easy for me to ask for help, but we truly need support as we continue navigating years of hardship.

In the summer of 2020, our family lost my father — a loving husband and dad — which left my mom, my younger brother, and me grieving while also struggling financially. Just nine months later, my mom, Angela Hylton, was diagnosed with Stage IV HER2-positive breast cancer. After a long and painful journey of treatment, surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, she fought incredibly hard and beat the cancer. We were in awe of her strength, faith, and resilience.

But our relief was short-lived. The cancer later metastasized to her brain, leading to a six-hour brain surgery (craniotomy). The road to recovery has been long and exhausting. She endured additional treatments and fought again until we were told the cancer was gone.

Sadly, the cancer has returned to her brain once more. Years of surgeries, treatments, and medications have taken a heavy toll on her body. She wants so badly to keep fighting, but her strength and mobility are not what they once were.

During her most recent brain surgery, another crisis hit our family. My younger brother was removed from school on a technicality, and while my mom was hospitalized, we missed the re-enrollment period. As a result, he has now missed three quarters of the school year. He has been doing his best to stay productive at home — teaching himself coding, working on projects, and studying independently — but he desperately needs the stability and normalcy of being back in school and rebuilding his future.

Because of everything happening at home, I had to leave school myself to help care for my mom and advocate for my brother. The emotional and financial strain has become overwhelming.

We are asking for help to cover medical expenses, household bills, transportation, and the costs of getting my brother back into a stable education while we continue caring for our mom.

If you are able to donate, share, or keep us in your prayers, it would mean more than words can express. We still hold onto faith and hope that this storm will pass, and we are deeply grateful for any support you can give.

With love, faith, and gratitude,
Jaedon & Family
