From all of Lisa Jewell's (Venticinque) family, we are reaching out to ask for your donations to assist Lisa live comfortably after everything she has endured the past 27 years. Lisa has been through more than 80 operations including two brain surgeries a little more than a year apart. She has undergone several leg surgeries and was told she would likely never walk again after an almost fatal Christmas Eve head on car collision in 1987. Fast forward 20 years later another head on collision resulted in many more leg surgeries and inability to walk for more than 14 months. In 2012 she was diagnosed with cancer of the breasts, lymph nodes, pelvis and lung. On Christmas Day 2013 our father passed away unexpectedly and immediately after the gravesite service, she received a devasting phone call from her doctor informing her that her brain scan was positive for cancer. In January 2014 and April 2015 Lisa underwent brain surgeries to remove cancer and scar tissue. Before the April procedure , she encountered a bout with seizures resulting in lost movement in the left side of her body. She is currently in physical therapy in a rehabilitation facility but should be released in June. If things were not instable enough, Lisa just found out her philandering husband has been cheating on her and has abandoned her in the midst of all of this tragedy. The past two years have been extremely rough on Lisa financially as she is unable to work due to the re-occurring cancer and the multiple surgeries. However, the state of MI will not declare her permanently disabled to allow her to collect much needed disability funds. Her medical expenses have become enormous and she is now in a predicament where she makes a decision on filling prescriptions or paying rent. She is confined to a wheel chair with no assistance to maneuver through her rental home and no monetary funds to help make it handicap accessible. Lisa also has been an advocate for rescue animals and took in 3 dogs that her husband once helped take care of until he recently left. They are all she has left and refuses to relinquish them to a shelter fearful of what might come to them. Every cent donated will be deposited into aTrust Fund with the sole purpose of paying Lisa's living expenses so she can live out the remainder of her life reasonably. Our deepest gratitude for any donation as every one is greatly needed and much appreciated.
