Finn, my 1 year old Border Collie is in need of surgery for elbow dysplasia. It will most likely be a bilateral surgery scheduled for November 19th. The cost of the surgery is around $6k, before all of the physical therapy needed.  I will be taking time off from work as the recovery is going to be a quite a  challenge. Because I am self employed, there is no income during that time. Finn, an active boy, will be crated for two weeks, the only break is to pee and poo. Then leash walk for 4 weeks. Lucky for him I am a Canine Massage Therapist and between myself and Kristyn Richardson, Chiropractic vet, he was diagnosed early enough to have a great prognosis due to his youth. I will be posting pictures,  pre and post surgery information about treatment, holistic and allopathic, PT., and my own personal journey with this amazing dog of mine. Soon enough, Finn will return to his special healing practice. He is a healer of "Dogs who won't Play!"  He has an uncanny ability to bring out the best in dogs with timid tendencies and creates a LOVE FIELD for all wherever he goes. He is, I think, the happiest dog I have ever know and that, my friends, is contagious.  As a healing arts practitioner and teacher I want  to support anyone who finds themselves with an orthopedic crisis like this.  I  have never experienced anything like this before and will try to take it a day at a time.
