We finally got into the kitchen. A lot of the stuff was able to be salvaged but still a lot of loss. We are very grateful for my mom who came with helping hands, supplies and totes! MANY TOTES!! Cleaning out our home is not how we planned on spending our 5 year wedding anniversary but this is the start of something bigger.

Help Us Rebuild After the Fire — Home, Pets, and Hope

On October 2nd, our home caught fire — and in just moments, everything changed. We got beyond lucky to not lose everything but our beloved animals suffered from smoke exposure and stress. While we are beyond grateful that they got medical care right away not all survived, we’re now faced with the overwhelming task of rebuilding our lives from the ground up.

This tragedy hits especially hard because my husband serves on our local fire department, dedicating his time to protecting others from the very thing that has now devastated our own home. I am a veterinary technician and also run a cat and kitten rescue called “No Kitten Around,” where we care for sick, injured, and abandoned animals. Our lives have always been about helping others — people and animals alike — and now we find ourselves in need of help.

What We’re Facing:

• Loss of our home and belongings — pet supplies, furniture, and everyday essentials are gone.

• Pet medical expenses — our rescue cats and personal pets are being treated for smoke inhalation and stress-related conditions.

• Moving and fire clean up- boxes, totes, and cleaning supplies

• Household bills — both regular expenses and unexpected costs caused by the fire.

• Rebuilding costs — we did not have insurance coverage, so we are starting completely from scratch.

How Donations Will Help:

Every dollar will go toward:

• Veterinary care, medications, and follow-up treatments for our animals

• Replacing essential pet supplies (food, litter, bedding, carriers, etc.)

• Covering living expenses while we are displaced

• Replacing household items and furniture

• Paying monthly bills and fire-related costs

• Beginning the process of rebuilding our home and stability
