Help Honey Aylward
Donation protected

One of the most beloved preschool teachers of Cold Spring needs our help. On Tuesday the 8th of March a car drove onto the curb of Larissa and David Aylward's property in Dover, running over their beloved, sweet dog, Honey. It was a hit and run, and the vet thinks it was most likely on purpose, and Honey is in critical condition. Some of her most serious injuries she sustained include a broken right leg, broken pelvis, internal bleeding, collapsed lung, chips in her spine, severe facial trauma and a bruise on her heart among others. She is holding on for dear life, and Larissa and David are committed to the plan of recovery, but only if her quality of life can be restored. She will need extensive surgeries over the next 6 months to save her.
Along with having to deal with the constant anguish of seeing their furry family member in such a condition, not knowing if she will make it through the night, they are now left with a medical bill upwards of $16,000, all of this because of a careless monster.
Some of you have had the pleasure of knowing Honey, the sweetest, friendliest, smartest dog. She is such a loving dog to her baby sister Addison, incredibly gentle and kind. She really is a special animal.
Larissa is very well known in the community as being an incredible, irreplaceable teacher to the children of the area. She is undeniably adored by her students who come back to visit her years and years after they've left her classroom. She is the first person to drop everything to help out anyone in need, even people she doesn't know well. Throughout the 15 years I've been friends with her, I've seen her be selfless to the point of sainthood. Larissa has lead a challenging life up until the day she met her soulmate David, but even when times were the worst for her, she's managed to constantly think of others before herself. She's organized fundraisers for the troops overseas, been a volunteer at many charity events including the NYC AIDS Walk for multiple years, she's donated her time and money to countless organizations in the community and she isn't slowing down. David, as well, is one of the most generous, hardworking and thoughtful men I've had the opportunity to know in the last 8 years or so. The both of them together create an amazing team who are always there to drop what they are doing to help someone out.
I've never seen this couple ask for help from anyone for anything. They are hard workers who never expect things they haven't earned. But this is a very special circumstance that I think deserves our help.
I've seen the good people of the community rally to support members of the area when they've needed it most. When tragedy strikes, I've seen how generous and loyal you all are to each other. Larissa and David are two people who deserve a little more peace of mind, so they can focus on the rehabilitation of their precious family member.
If there is absolutely anything at all you can donate to this cause, it would be so helpful and appreciated. If you can't afford even a small donation then please keep Honey in your thoughts and prayers, and share this fundraiser around to your friends and family.
I know that we can all come together and make a difference in the lives of this young family who deserves it.
Thank you all so so much. ❤️
