We are beyond upset now.

We are ANGRY.

And we are DESPERATE for help.

What the hell is happening in this country?

This is Marvin.

He is ONLY 1.5 YEARS OLD.

Marvin BROKE HIS LEG IN OCTOBER - OCTOBER - and instead of getting help, instead of surrendering him, instead of doing anything remotely humane, he was LEFT TO ROT ALIVE.

Not days.

Not weeks.

MONTHS.

The vet quote was £2,000. And yes - that’s a lot of money. But you know what you do then?

You ask for help.

You go to a charity vet.

You contact a rescue.

You surrender the animal.

You DO NOT leave a living, breathing, sentient being to DECAY.

By the time Marvin arrived at Protected Paws Animal Rescue on Monday, the infection was so severe that people were leaving reception because of the smell. 

His leg was wrapped in some disgusting DIY bandage, fused to open flesh, while the BONE WAS STICKING OUT. His leg was twisted the wrong way, tissue dead, skin blackened, literally rotting off his body.

Let that sink in.

This cat ROTTED ALIVE since October.

Marvin had to be placed on a constant rate infusion of methadone and ketamine just to stop him screaming in pain. He is on IV antibiotics fighting an infection that never should have existed.

And we are still hearing the same pathetic excuses:

“Couldn’t afford it.”

“Family illness.”

“He’s a stray.”

NO.

Just NO.

There is NO EXCUSE IN HELL for this. 

Zero. None. Ever.

If he wasn’t your cat, why was he loving you, trusting you, relying on you? And of course unneutered, as always.

The RSPCA and Police have been notified. And yes, we hope there are consequences but let’s be honest, the animal justice system in this country is a DISGRACE.

And now WE are left picking up the pieces.

Marvin still needs: 

 Emergency surgery

 Ongoing hospitalisation

Intensive pain management

 IV antibiotics

A full dental for multiple broken teeth
