Kylo’s vet bill

I want to start off by saying that if you know me, you know that I am not a person who feels any sort of comfort in asking others for help but I have come to a point in this journey where I can no longer bear this vet bill and I have simply run out of options. But, I want to take a quick moment to help you get to know a little bit about my baby. Kylo, or my nicknames for him “Little man” or “Mr.Man”, will be turning 1 years on this week on January 3rd, and he is unlike any cat I have ever met in my life. Kylo is the sweetest, funniest, and loving baby, and his purr can be heard behind closed doors. With comes being a kitten, Kylo is also a little bit of a trouble maker, which is how we got into this situation in the first place. Kylo absolutely loves to eat things lol anything small he will try his hardest to devour. So it leads me here to explain what has happened, as you could probably guess… yes… he ate some things he was not suppose to and it caused some problems in his insides. On Christmas Eve morning I noticed he was very ill, he wasn’t eating, dropping weight rapidly, very lethargic, vomiting and barely responding to me. (Sweet baby was still purring up a storm though) We decided to take him to the vet, where they did many tests, x rays, then which lead to exploratory surgery where they found almost a bag full of small miscellaneous items in his stomach, intestines leading all the way up to his esophagus. They also found a string that was wrapped all in his intestines which was blocking passageway for bowl movements, causing him to become very ill. So after that initial surgery he was doing okay, up until when he wasn’t. I got a call that he was not doing well post op, and they ups his meds, ran many more tests to come to find out he is Anemic and needs a blood transfusion. That procedure alone costs $4,000. They also have informed us of a small leak that is leading into his stomach which calls to open him back up and do surgery to repair that. Dozens of blood work tests, X rays, IVs, overnight care, 2 large surgeries, a blood transfusion plus I’m sure many other things I have come to a point where I have to ask for help and more prayers. This cat means more to me than anyone could possibly comprehend. He is a lifeline for me. My mental health relies so heavily on my cats, they keep me alive. I know many people probably think I am insane for being willing to spend this much on a cat, but at the end of the day he is family, and you cannot put a price tag on love of a family member. I love and appreciate everyone, whether you’ve took the time to check on Kylo or I, donating any small change you can spare, or sharing this post for me. I appreciate all the love and support I’ve received so far and we are praying for a miracle because his battle is not over just yet. Thank you so much.
