Help Elizabeth Keep Her Apartment

On April 22, 2023, Elizabeth Pruden - many of whom you know as "Protest Mom" - fell from a stage and broke her foot. She's been at home in a boot recovering ever since. During this painful and difficult time, Liz has been without any income, unable to work her security position with Vigilant Asset Protection, and without any type of paid medical leave. While her employer is holding her job for her until she is fully healed and back on her feet, Liz is struggling to pay rent, buy food, and do all the basics of living including housecleaning, grocery shopping, driving, and making meals.

She is currently behind in her rent, racking up late fees, and does not want to lose her apartment while she recovers from her fall. She has very little help and an even harder time asking for it. She has a closed non-displaced fracture of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th metatarsal bone of her right foot. A really painful doozy!

Many people in the Oregon community (and beyond) have benefited from Liz's kind-heartedness and generosity over the years. Liz has given the community tens of thousands of dollars out of her own pocket to support Black lives, Black youth, and organizations that work with and help the most marginalized among us. Now it's time for us to help Liz. She needs the community to hold her, support her, and help her out in this critical time of need.

Her doctors say she needs another month to recover fully. She is currently doing physical therapy each week while trying to be patient with the healing process so she can get back to the job she loves and is so good at. She does not want to lose her apartment through this ordeal and having no income for these months is putting her in a precarious position. She is racking up credit card debt which will only bury her further.

The funds from this campaign will help Liz pay her back rent, get caught up on her utility bills, put some food in her fridge, and some gas in her car, and allow her some breathing room to fully recover while not being overstressed about having no income for this period or losing her housing.

We deeply appreciate any contributions to this campaign - small or large! Please also share this campaign within your networks and spread the word! The more people the better. It truly takes a village.
