We lost Kevin Babb on April 29th 2015. After the loss of this amazing person, this man that touched so many hearts, this incredible human that brought so much happiness to a ridiculous amount of people, the hand that was always lending itself, the fisherman that was way better than you! After that loss, a lot still remains... A mother, a father and step mother, a sister and brother in law, a nephew that will always know Kevin but will never meet him, a step brother, multiple step sisters and brother in laws, a woman who loved him, hundreds if not thousands of friends whom half considered him a best friend, and then theres me, he will always be my best friend, and I know I was his. His memory will ALWAYS remain, we will think of him everyday. We have endless stories to tell and memories to visit.
We however don't have a headstone to visit. As the family said, he didn't only fish for a living but he lived to fish, and he was realllllly good at it. Myself as well as many others will miss seeing him at the H dock with his limits on salmon, halibut, and ling cod.... Or his boat about to sink because the tuna on his boat passed weight capacity before he was done fishing. Short story long, we want a bench, a bench for Kevin, a bench for us. A place we can all share, a place we all know, a place to honor him, a place to keep his memory long after we are gone, a place strangers will see and maybe acknowedge and remember someone they never had the pleasure of meeting. A place other than our minds, our photo albums, our stories, this website or even fricken Facebook. And we want the bench at the Santa Cruz Harbor...
