My name is Michelle, I am Christina’ “Tina” twin sister. On January 14th, I received the call that nobody wants to get. I was informed that my sister was in a terrible car accident and I needed to come as soon as possible to Redding, CA where my sister resides. I took the first flight up to Northern California where I went immediately went to the hospital to learn of her injuries. Tina suffered severe injuries to her brain, internal bleeding, fractured from neck down to pelvis, broken hand, second degree burns, injuries to her knees, other hand and ribs. I was told she needed to be airlifted to the Enloe trauma center in Chico as the injuries were extensive and she needed to get the proper care. I felt helpless watching my sister leave and then had to make the call to my family and inform them of the accident.

As soon as I made it to The trauma center, the neurologist, orthopedic and trauma surgeons where waiting for me to give me the prognosis. Tina was immediately taken to emergency surgery on her pelvis. She has been in critical condition within the ICU/nuero trauma unit since the accident occurred and has been monitored very closely. Next steps are for her to have surgery to repair her neck.

Myself and my family have not left my sisters side. Although the injuries are significant, I can’t tell you how blessed I am to have my sister make it out of this accident alive! She is still with us and I am grateful for that!

Tina has medical insurance however; her expenses greatly out weigh what insurance is covering. We are seeking the communities help to alleviate some of the strain and stress that Tina will have to manage after recovery. All contributions go directly to her medical expenses and anything helps!

I want to thank my family and my close friends and those that reached out; who have continuously prayed for Tina and our family. ❤️

There are so many of you that care about Tina and for those that didn’t know of the accident; I needed time to focus on my sister and ensure she was going to make it through this. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever been through, to watch my twin suffer, I had to be fully present with her! Thank you for your understanding!
