Friends Don't Let Friends Fight Leukemia Alone

On August 2nd, the Collinsworth Family was delivered a hard blow with the discovery that Grant has acute leukemia.  Right away, he began undergoing blood transfusions and daily bloodwork to try to get it under control until treatment could begin. Monday, August 12th, Grant was admitted to the hospital for a four-week intensive treatment stay. Needless to say, this disease has already taken an emotional and physical toll on the entire Collinsworth family, and it is just beginning. The entire battle they are facing may well last longer than the initial four-week inpatient treatment. Their church and friends have already come together to try to provide meals, and friends and family are trying to help with the kids where needed. We would like to try to ease the financial stress that will surely be a result of Grant not being able to work regularly while he undergoes treatment. Unfortunately, the family will not be receiving any income, disability compensation or any other type of financial compensation as long as he is not able to work. His wife, Susan, currently works only part-time, as they have four children and she volunteers a lot of her time as the children's director of their church. Once treatment starts, it is unknown how much or little she will be able to fulfill even her part-time position. The sole operation of their household and all of their children's schedules will fall on her shoulders, and they have lost the income that Grant earned. Anyone who knows this family knows that they are warm, generous, friendly, and they would give the shirts off their backs to help anyone who needs it. This struggle is a giant one, but their faith is bigger. They are giving it to God, and have a strong army of prayer warriors and people who love them on their side. Please help us be "their village". Let's raise this family up and be there for them. There is no amount too small. Every single dollar will go such a long way to help them and enable them to focus on what matters - healing Grant and being together again.
