Your help is much needed

Hi, my name is John Owen, and I want to ask for your help to assist two people who have spent their lives helping others. On March 13, 2024 my aunt and uncle, Ronnie and Betty Owen, who are both already dealing with major medical issues, experienced the worst day of their lives. Not only did my aunt Betty fall and break her hip while shopping for groceries, but while they were at the hospital attending to that emergency, their house caught fire and burned. The fire department responded, however the house and all of its contents were a total loss. They lost everything they owned, including their beloved cat. Unfortunately, their insurance company canceled their fire insurance policy after making a claim a few years ago, and they were unable to find new coverage. They were only left with the clothes on their back and the car they drove to the store.

Ronnie 76, and Betty 75 are lifelong residents of Brevard, NC in Transylvania County. Ronnie retired a few years back from the local hospital after 52 years of service. He is an insulin dependent diabetic who has been experiencing significant complications lately. Betty is a homemaker and raised two children. She has recently been struggling with progressive dementia, and she is scheduled for hip surgery today, March 14. They both loved their cat Tiger who was lost in the fire. He meant the world to them, and they are mourning his loss.

I am attaching a WLOS news story which includes a video about the fire. However, it inaccurately named their son, Johnathan, who also lived at the home, as the homeowner. Jonathan's girlfriend was there when the fire occurred, and the family is thankful that she was able to escape with her life.

Let us come together with love, kindness, and generosity to help these folks who certainly need it at this time.
