Move On

Hi everyone.
This very embarrassing for me to have to do, but I’m in a slight panic.

June 2017 I was diagnosed with breast cancer.  That fall through March 2018 I went through chemo and was out of work.  I sadly had a recurrence in Oct 2018 and had to go through another 8 rounds of even worse chemo and radiation.  Both of which have caused a lot of damage to my body, but I’m thankful to be here.

I tell you this because I had to borrow sick days from my employer in order to still get paid through the ordeal and I am a single income person.  I have been through numerous surgeries for reconstruction with two life threatening infections.  Now my hip needs to be replaced due to the post cancer medications that I’m on that deteriorate joints and bone. My employer will not allow me to borrow anymore sick days and as it is I owe them $80K + for the days that I borrowed upon my retirement.    So now I have to go into surgery in March with no income for 4-6 weeks and I am panicking.

Just as I hate asking ppl to help me, I’m embarrassed to even ask for help this way as I know ppl will talk and be judgmental.  My parents are deceased.  I have a sister that lives in SC but I do not have any family support here on Long Island.  Anything anyone can do to help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time.
