I am currently trapped in a dangerous domestic violence situation, and my own mother has become more emotionally and physically abusive, going so far as to attempt to strangle me. It’s a terrifying ordeal, and I fear for my safety every moment I am in her presence.

I have managed to secure an apartment where I can start a new chapter of my life and finally escape this nightmare. The good news is that I am set to move into my own apartment on September 23rd, a date that seems so far away yet holds the promise of safety and freedom.
