My Mums Funeral
Donation protected
Friends, Family, Brothers, Sisters and kind Strangers.
I recently shared the gutting news of my beautiful mum, who left us far too soon at the age of 49.
She was the epitome of strength and courage, having fought tirelessly against depression, BPD, cancer, and trauma. Even in her darkest moments, she was a beacon of hope for others, dedicating her life to lifting and supporting those who needed it.
Our family is left shattered by the void she leaves behind. We can't help but wish she had seen herself the way we did - as a fighter, a champion, a pillar of strength, someone who was gorgeous and worth it. As we prepare to say our final goodbyes, we want to ensure that her funeral is a true reflection of the love and admiration that surrounds her memory.
I don’t have the words though to show how much it hurts to say we cannot afford it. It’s been a whirlwind month where we recently faced the tough decision to move my Granddad into specialist dementia care, a choice that has stretched us both emotionally and financially. My Nan cries that not only has she lost her rock but now grieves for her beloved daughter. We can’t even tell my granddad that my mum is waiting for him in Heaven.
Although our family has been extremely generous, we still fall short of the funds needed to cover the funeral expenses. This is why I humbly ask for your help. If you can, any amount that you can contribute would be greatly appreciated - no gesture is too small. If money is left over, I would love to honour my brave mum's memory by planting a cherry blossom tree in our garden, and one at Berrywood Hospital. It’s what she wanted.
Thank you to all those who’ve supported us with memories, comments and love at this tough time, and thank you in advance for any financial support.
And to anyone reading this who knew my mum, who looked to Jo Ormston-Drake for guidance. She never gave up on you. And she hasn’t yet. So you can’t either. Because what has happened behind you, and will happen ahead of you, pales in comparison to who you are inside. You’ve got this!
