Veronica McCollum is a remarkable woman who has been dealt an incredibly tough hand. After being hospitalized on December 26th due to severe leg pain, she was diagnosed with blood clots in her leg and lungs, as well as a mass. The biopsy on December 30th confirmed the worst—Adenocarcinoma Cancer. This mass is pressing on her ovary and a major vein, making her fight even more urgent.

Starting her first round of chemotherapy on January 9th, Veronica will undergo treatments every three weeks, receiving a higher dosage each time. As her neighbor and friend, I’ve seen firsthand how much she means to her family and community. She is the sole provider for her young son and fur baby, Luna, and her role as a bus driver for Howland Schools is invaluable.
