Chris and I are very indpendent people, and work hard to solve our own problems. Recently, I posted a facebook status that said: "Confession time. I don't do as I say. Meaning I help others, encourage others, give advice, but do not follow that for myself. Sigh. I am my own worst enemy." Now I am following through on that. I am a big believer in crowdfunding, and feel like it is a way for our modern society to support one and other like a virtual barnraising. Even with that belief, it is taking courage and vulnerability to post this.
If you know us, you know that since 2013, we have had a series of unfortunate events, including back to back car accidents. Some of those events have had long term repercussions in our health and wellbeing. They also have drained our monetary resources and assets. Now we have no savings, no credit, and I have drained my retirement fund. We have tightened our belts and it doesn't seem to be working.
We have been struggling to make our mortgage since Summer. I have been working with the bank, but they haven't been working with me. Now our home is in foreclosure with a sale date of 1/5/16. I am working a couple of angles to keep our home, including starting a home modification, but I don't trust Wells Fargo. We have not had good experiences trying to work with them. I do know that if we come up with the past due amount, they will reinstate the loan.
I have gotten a second job. We have cut our expenses. Chris is taking care of the home front and working to pick up cash with the skills he has (Calligraphy). But I'm worried we won't raise enough in time. I am able to pay mortgage payments this month and in the future, so we just need the past due.
Every little bit will help us. We love you all and promise to pay it forward. If choosing a reward, let us know. We are flexible and work to see how we can help.
