WOW Memorial Scholarship Fund

Hi, my name is Julie Warnke.
I am a middle school teacher in Steamboat Springs. I love children and have dedicated my entire professional life to educating, caring for, and supporting them.
Sadly, in January of 2013, my husband and I lost our own infant son Wilhelm at the precious age of six months old. Even after many years, it is still difficult to comprehend the gravity and sorrow of our loss.
Though our lives have moved forward, we continue to miss him and find comfort in knowing his spirit lives strongly within our children and in us.
Carl and I established a scholarship fund in his name almost ten years ago to make something positive out of our pain. Our scholarship recognizes Senior boys from our local high school who demonstrate high levels of integrity, scholarship, commitment to career and community goals, and empathy. We feel that Wilhelm's spirit is also carried on through them.
Since I know so many of the students who apply personally, it is challenging for me to choose just one, so we give multiple scholarships each year!!
Therefore I need to fundraise again.
We are so grateful and appreciative of any amount you can give. It all goes to incredible young men who are setting out to make a difference in our world.
Thank you kindly,
The Warnke Family
