I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Jeremy Johnson. My parents have owned and operated Whispering Winds Resort on beautiful lake Vermilion for the past 23 seasons. As with many family owned business the time has come for a changing of ownership. With that change will also come a change in direction for the resort as we know it. I will be starting the Wounded Wings Faith Forward Foundation. Our goal here will be to encourage our veterans and under privileged children into a personal relationship with GOD thru his son JESUS CHRIST. As someone who has walked in the darkness and seen the light I know personally the difference that having a relationship with god makes firsthand. I have witnessed many times the power of the holy spirit and what it can do in your life. My walk with JESUS did not start directly with him but as a soul search for the truth. Along that journey I have had many encounters that I was unable to deny or dismiss. GOD began in my life as a little child with gentle nudges but I kept on ignoring his calls. As I got older the struggles and the calling on me grew in intensity but I still was not responding. I had been living a self centered life hoping to find happiness but I found just the opposite. Upon getting honest with myself I knew I could not continue down that path in life. GOD was finally able to get me to my knees. I had made a mess of my life and could not fix the wreckage of my past. I was stuck between the rock and the hard place. Its amazing how in life the hardest decisions we have to make can be so easy when one is honest with yourself. The only way was to surrender my life and my past into the hands of my creator. Why I chose to doubt and deny as long as I did only proved my lack of wisdom. As I made the choice to start over with God first and foremost in the remainder of my time I had in this life some amazing things began to happen. As I started to get to know the word of GOD life began to get clearer. I began to see life from his perspective. What a game changer. I realized he was more concerned with the character of the person more than our condition. That realization has had me working as a volunteer for almost all of my past 23 years here. For almost the past 20 years I have known what the resort was going to become some day. Now the time has come to begin a new chapter here at Whispering Winds and i would like you to have a part in this blessing. The target goal is set high to cover the purchase of the entire property of 328 ft of shoreline cabins and boats. There is a lot of rebuilding that will have to take place to be ADA compliant. Also we r looking to be able to purchase the neighboring property to bring our total shoreline up to around 450 feet. That will help us with docking as the boats will get bigger to handle wheelchair guests  WE will be adding a video featuring the property as it currently is as well as some amazing drone footage that shows the scenery of lake vermilion. Lake vermilion is the southern most of the glacial lakes carved out of granite.  It has 40000 acres of water, 1200 miles of shoreline and an island for every day of the year. The lake has walleye northern pike musky both species of bass as well as crappies and bluegill. Along with the video we will be adding a personal testimonial page to our website that will go into greater detail of the events that have been life changing for me. All funds donated will go to the purchase of the resort and upgrades. Any wages that may be paid to anyone will come from the rental portion of our season after all overhead costs are covered. if you have an interest in being a volunteer contact the resort for more details.
