Wounded in the Line of Duty
Donation protected
On October 14th, my son-in-law, Sergeant Todd Oesterle, was shot and wounded in the line of duty. The bullet traveled through his neck/shoulder area and stopped in his back. He was flown by Med flight to a trauma center where he was treated and released to go home with his family.
Since then, the bullet has been removed but the recovery is far from over.
Todd has been taken off of work until at least the first of the year.
In the meantime, he will be seeing an ENT to hopefully repair and restore the hearing that was lost due to the blast of the gun. He will also be treated through physical therapy to hopefully restore full function again.
Until then, Todd is unable to work at either of the jobs he typically works. His wife took off two weeks to stay home and see to him while he recovered and has been taking off of work to see to it that he makes it to his weekly appointments.
With the travel back and forth to doctor appointments, as well as the lost income, this family is coming into the holiday season in financial distress.
I am asking that those who support our LEO community consider giving what you can to help this family through until they can get back on their feet.
