Would You Like Another Glass? - Short Film
Donation protected
Hi everyone!
Thanks so much for checking out the WYLAG GoFundMe. Here you’ll find a breakdown of our film, who is a part of the team making this project and how we intend to use the funds we’ve acquired to make our short film become reality!
Short Synopsis:
This film is about two people that are casually seeing each other; who get into an argument after one of them misinterprets a text. It is a student short film that takes place in a young adult's apartment, her name is Lucy. Still passively grieving the death of her older brother, Daniel, she has never actively moved through grief; it re-emerges throughout her everyday life. She partakes in online dating culture, but after a long-term break-up, she’s only concerned with casual dating. She believes there’s an expectation of at least partial communication with anyone she’s seeing.
Lucy is casually seeing a man named Sean, who lives in Sydney and has flown down to Melbourne to see some friends and catch up with Lucy. He was Melbourne born but relocated to Sydney for university, he has rent paid by his parents. He has gone through his own trauma and can be sympathetic and visits Melbourne frequently, often staying for the weekend, partying and spending most of the day with his mates. He enjoys Lucy’s company, but also isn’t looking for anything serious; to him, hookup culture is ‘out of sight, out of mind’.
This film is made by a talented group of young filmmakers currently studying at Swinburne Uni. Our goal is to raise funds for the overall production of this film, these include:
Catering
Film equipment
Paying our cast
Covering costs for our locations
Paying for an Intimacy Coordinator
For direct inspiration, our film mirrors the elements and aspects of The Worst Person in the World & Force Majeure. These two films have tonal, cinematographic and narrative similarities that we believe will work great with the story we are trying to tell.
Meet our crew for the film!

Hey! I'm Matthew, the writer/director of Would You Like Another Glass?, and I'm keen as to begin production on such an exciting project. I'm an Advanced Diploma student at Swinburne, and I just finished directing my short documentary I'm New Here. Producer Lachie Maloney:

Hi, I’m Lachie Maloney, I am the Producer for Would You Like Another Glass? I am super keen and excited to be a part of this project as I value and enjoy the collaborative nature of filmmaking. I’ve had some experience working as a film director, DoP, sound designer, and editor, for and on, various projects throughout my time as a film student. I currently have little experience being a Producer, however, having worked in multiple roles before this one I am super excited to continue working with these talented people.
Editor Michael Yardley:
Hi I’m Michael the editor and assistant director of “Would You Like Another Glass?”, born in Australia I moved around a lot, I was raised up in Shanghai, China and in Bangalore, India. In this time I used to make short films with my friends telling weird and funny stories. Growing up, those short films have been amazing at allowing me to live through my old memories, sparking joy and fun. This is where my love for storytelling and filmmaking came from. My hope is to bring some of these emotions to you through the stories I’m privileged enough to be a part of telling. I can’t wait to show some of the beautiful stories that exist here in Melbourne, and hope to bring them to life for you.
