Hello, my name is Caleb Panduro, and I’m the father of two-year-old Yareli. We live in Iquitos, Peru.

My wife, Brendy, and I were over the moon when Yareli was born. She’s our only child, a wonderful little girl with a smile that lights up the room and brings joy to our hearts.

I’m sure you can imagine how devastated we were when she was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. This rare but serious blood condition occurs when your bone marrow cannot make enough new blood cells for your body to work normally. It means that our sweet little Yareli isn’t getting enough oxygen to her organs and needs weekly blood transfusions.

Left untreated, this is a deadly disease, causing kids like Yareli to have frequent and prolonged infections, a rapid or irregular heart rate, shortness of breath, and prolonged bleeding.

We’ve brought Yareli to the Edgardo Rebagliati Martins Hospital in Lima, the capital of Peru. Doctors there have tried immunosuppressive treatment, but this failed. For Yareli to survive, she needs a bone marrow transplant.

Like any parents, Brendy and I will do anything to save our baby girl.

After bone marrow testing, we learned that we are only 50% compatible with Yareli, meaning she won’t respond well to a bone marrow transplant from either me or her mom.

This leaves only one option. We must take Yareli to Spain…to save her life.

There is a bone marrow bank in Barcelona where donors with greater compatibility can help save her life. The medical experts there will also be able to give her the best care.

The reality is that we simply do not have the money to fly our daughter to Spain and save her life. Would you consider helping us?

We need $17,500 USD to fly Yareli and her mama to Spain for 5-6 months of medical treatment. Although I need to continue working here in Peru so I can provide for my family, this will allow me to join them for a shorter amount of time as well. The resources will help us cover expenses while Yareli is getting her lifesaving treatment in Spain, including housing, food, and other related needs. We are blessed that the hospital in Spain will be covering all of Yareli’s medical costs once she arrives, as they focus on young children with this life-saving treatment.
