The WOT will walk 40km with everything needed to manually drill a well.

This will happen on the 11th of October, in cooperation with the kennedymars Hengelo. This group of students will walk for about 8-9 hours to reach their goal and drill a functioning well at the end of the day.

You money will go towards sponsoring a valuable water NGO that uses these funds to help people in developing countries (mainly Africa) get access to clean and reliable drinking water.

In may 2026 two experienced drilling teachers will go to Zambia to give a followup course to a group of local well drillers, this will help them better develop their businesses and help ensure higher quality wells and pumps.

This fundraising event is organized by the WOT (Werkgroep OntwikkelingsTechnieken, Working group on development techniques), an association on the campus of the university of Twente. We have more than 55 years of experience in the development aid sector and are in contact with all three of the charities we are supporting with this event.
