A production that spanned continents, endured a global pandemic, & navigated unprecedented industry disruption. All while uniting hundreds of artists, craftspeople & inspiring a global community of fans.

It’s a story that deserves to be told.

Turning the Wheel: The Story Behind the Fantasy Epic is an independent documentary series exploring the complete journey of Amazon's The Wheel of Time television series — from the earliest dreams of adaptation to the lasting legacy it leaves behind not just on television, but also on the community.

A wide range of cast & crew have already agreed to interviews, including S2 & 3 Costume Designer Sharon Gilham, Stunt Coordinator Jan Petrina, & Actor Priyanka Bose. Alongside conversations with members of the fan community, these interviews will reveal the creative ambition, collaboration, and perseverance of the show, as well as it’s lasting impact on the global community of fans.

This isn't a documentary about whether the series succeeded or failed. It's about the people who devoted years of their lives to weaving the Pattern.

Behind every episode stood thousands of creative decisions made by writers, directors, designers, craftspeople, visual effects artists, stunt performers, producers, and actors whose work rarely receives the spotlight it deserves.

This documentary aims to change that.

Rather than simply revisiting what appeared on screen, Turning the Wheel looks behind the camera to discover how those moments came to life—and the people whose passion made them possible.

Their stories will be the heart of this documentary.

Funds will be used to cover costs involved with making the documentary including, but not limited to, travel for interviews, equipment for recording, storage, & editing, & sourcing music licences, etc.

Timings - Documentaries take time. Time to arrange schedules, record interviews, editing, and so much more. I do not plan to rush this documentary, but instead aim to take the time to do it right. As such the current aim for release will be the in the first half of 2027. As time goes on, updates firmer dates will be shared.

Many cast & crew have agreed to interviews for this documentary but sadly we are not able to 100% gaurantee that everyone who agreed will appear. Schedules are subject to change due to the nature of the industry. All efforts will be made to perform in person interviews wherever possible except where scheduling and/or travel causes that to be impossible.
