Worth Every Shot: Support Matt & Kati's IVF Dream

Hey there, friends & family. Everyone that knows us, knows that this isn’t an easy thing for us to do. We have shared some of our struggles and what we’ve been going through, but not everything. We are stepping out of our comfort zones in hopes of achieving our family dream. We have a dream to grow our family and give Katilina a sibling to grow up with.

We married in 2018 and knew immediately that we wanted to start a family. We tried for a baby and unfortunately suffered a miscarriage in 2019. Because of Kati’s age, we felt that IVF was the best route and thankfully insurance covered it. We were so unbelievably lucky (the Doctor reminds us all the time) and we were blessed with Katilina, even though we were only able to retrieve two eggs at the time. Since then, we have been trying to give her a sibling without intervention, but unfortunately, we have suffered two more miscarriages in the last 3 years. As we are getting older, we know that our chances are getting slimmer and slimmer to be able to do it on our own.

Due to that limited window, we would like to try the IVF process again. Our insurance is fantastic and covers all procedures & medication but unfortunately, it does not cover the testing which is a very important step of the process due to Kati’s age. Her percentage of having a good egg is only 5-10% at this point. Our doctor strongly advised that we should harvest and freeze the eggs to test them to make sure that they are viable. If we don’t go through with the testing, statistics show that we have a 10% chance of giving birth to a healthy baby. That’s why this step is extremely important to us and our family because we trust our doctors and their expertise in their field. After the discount that we will receive, the testing is still going to be just under $5,000 out of pocket which we just don’t have right now. We know there is no guarantee that this round of IVF will work, but we want to do everything that we can to try, this is our last chance.

We know there isn't always the option to donate money, and there is no amount too big or too small to help us out. We also know that everyone has their own stories, but we would be forever thankful to each and everyone that is willing to donate or even read and share our story. We are hoping to start the process before the end of 2024 so we can enjoy our new family by Summer of 2025.
