Hello, I’m Richie Sheerin a proud multiple myeloma warrior, a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, and a passionate cyclist. Diagnosed in 2018, my life has been a whirlwind of battles and triumphs. Seven years later, I’m not just surviving—I’m thriving. And this August, I have the incredible honor of representing Transplant Sport Northern Ireland at the World Transplant Games in Dresden, Germany.

My journey has been anything but ordinary. I’ve braved multiple rounds of radiotherapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, a hip replacement, and, perhaps most life-changing of all, a tandem stem cell transplant made possible by my brother’s selfless gift. His stem cells didn’t just give me a second chance at life—they’ve empowered me to chase a lifelong dream: to compete on a global stage as a symbol of hope and resilience for transplant recipients everywhere.

At the World Transplant Games, I’ll be competing in four cycling events: the individual time trial, team time trial, road race, and the bike leg of the triathlon relay. Every race I undertake is not just a personal victory but also a celebration of the incredible gift of life that transplants provide.

This journey is deeply personal and profoundly symbolic. It’s about showing the world what transplant recipients can achieve with the support of medical breakthroughs, family, and an unyielding spirit. But I can’t do it alone. Preparing for these races and covering the costs of travel, accommodation, and equipment requires financial support—and that’s where I need your help.
