Hello. My name is Jeff Patterson , and I am a life long Snowboarder. I have been "hooked" since day one - pursuing as many days of sliding sideways as possible. From my early years in competition, trouble at the hometown resort prompted a facination with snowcats that quickly led me into a career of terrain park developments around the globe. Along this entire pathway I worked on my other passion of capturing images. Soon this turned into a full time career as a Photographer and Writer for the world of Snowboarding on printed pages. I have lived most of my life focused on these passions, and have tried my hardest to remain connected to this sport. Now as a father, sharing this with my wife and also passing along this addiction to my 2 boys.
Along with all of this focus on Snowboarding, I very early on had a fascination with the sports history, and those people that gave it a colourful and storied past. I started collecting boards at thrift shops, garage sales, and from friends within the industry. For more than 20 years I have collected gear, magazines, shop POP, Photos, and anything "unique" that was presented to me. A dream has been building- along with the mounting storage bills, with the ultimate thought of sharing all of these pieces of history with everyone. In my collecting, I have also been able to connect with many others who share in my passion for not only the sport but the preservation of its past. A few of these individuals have become part of helping to make this happen.

Long before Snowboarding was a sport known around the globe at an Olympic Level, it was a very small passion for only a handful of people. These forefathers of what is now modern snowboarding could have never imagined what they were doing would become the Sport it is today. The greatest thing we have - in regards to the connection to this history is the actual people who were directly involved in much of the "boom" of the sport. Many of these founding fathers are still here to share stories, images, art, video, and most importantly the speak about the gear they helped create! It is time to open up our ears, collect these stories and present these people and what they helped create to the world, before they themselves are just part of a remembered story.
I want to open a museum, both physical, and virtual, to show and display all of these pieces. My goal is to open doors in Whistler BC Canada. The costs to get the ball rolling on this project are quite heavy. Lease agreements, display construction costs, further art and gear curation, digital scanning and website development, just to name a few of the heavy costs. We are hoping this will hit the community and gain support enough to make the dream a reality - So any and all help is appreciated. We have registered a non-profit society to make sure this can happen legally - "The Canadian Snowboarding Museum and Hall of Fame Society" . This is where your support will go. Once we can secure a brick and mortar location, there are many arts, sports, and museum grants that we will actively pursue to continue to build on the foundation that this initial support will solidify. Please reach out with any questions, or ideas, or if you can somehow get involved in ANY way-- Thank you.
-As this starts hitting eyes, please Stay tuned for upcoming announcements of brand and athlete affiliations, target goal draw prizes, and more!
How things have changed :)
