Aloha kākou,
These boys are the Little League Junior Division Hawai'i State Champions and now the West Region Champions. As a team and family, we humbly ask for your support to represent the State of Hawai'i and the West Region in the 2022 Little League World Series in Taylor, Michigan.
On Monday, July 19th, the Honolulu Junior League Baseball team won the State Tournament in a double header against an excellent Central East Maui team. They earned the privilege of representing the State of Hawai'i in the Junior League Baseball West Region Tournament in Bend, Oregon, from August 4th to August 11th.
Honolulu went 4-0 in the 13-team regional tournament, decisively outscoring its opponents 54-7. Honolulu played and beat Alaska (12-1), Arizona (15-1), Northern California (11-2), and Southern California (16-3). With one day’s notice, the team is now traveling to Taylor, Michigan, to compete in the 2022 Junior League Baseball World Series from August 14th to August 21st. The team’s first game against host Taylor, Michigan, will be streamed on ESPN+ on August 14, 2022, at 11 am (HST).
Due to the pandemic, these boys lost all opportunity to compete to represent Hawai’i in the Little League Baseball Tournament in 2020 when they were 12-year-olds, and in the Little League 50/70 Intermediate Baseball Tournaments in 2021 when they were 13 year olds. They are now extremely excited about the opportunity to represent the State of Hawai’i and the West Region as 14-year-olds.
Unlike the 12-year-old Little League Regional Tournaments, the Junior League Division's travel and accommodation costs for players and coaches are not covered.
Due to the extremely short turnaround time, fundraising options for this team have been limited. We are humbly asking for your consideration of donating to our team. We know everyone is working hard to make ends meet, and times are tough with inflation and gas prices. Any donation amount would be greatly appreciated.
For tax-deductible contributions over $500, please write a check to Honolulu Little League with "Juniors" in the memo, which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, to receive a donation letter.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your love and support as these boys represent the State of Hawai'i in the 40th Junior League World Series!
