My wheelchair is my freedom, and my independence.
It’s how I work, train, travel, chase my goals and live my life - my identity.
And right now, it’s on its last legs.
The chair is 8 years old, and whilst she’s taken me around the world, to 18 countries and across 4 marathon finish lines, she’s starting to be abit of a princess and a problem.
The wheels on my current wheelchair are (for lack of a better phrase) almost failing off.
The performance is not there, and with what I'm determined to do, I need a chair that’s up to the challenge.
Because I have a big goal: to break the world record for fastest woman, complete a marathon in a non-racing wheelchair!
A new wheelchair will cost approximately $15,000, an amount I simply can’t cover on my own, so I’m doing something that isn't easy for me: I’m asking for help.
This isn't only about replacing an old wheelchair. I don’t want my disability or the chair I currently have to determine how big I’m allowed to dream.
Next year might be the world record; after that, the world majors.
My reality is that I don't receive any financial help from anywhere; I have no NDIS support, nor do I get funding from the UK. I am completely self-funded, and with that bring it’s challenges.
This new chair would give me the freedom, peace of mind & performance I need to keep moving forward, train and take on this challenge.
Every donation gets me one step (or one wheel) closer, whether it's $10, $50, $500 or more.
And if you can't donate, sharing this campaign could be just as powerful. Because you never know who might see it and decide to become part of this story.
Help me turn my old chair into a new one and wheels that could carry me toward a world record!
MY STORY
8 years ago, aged 24, I became disabled after a Drag Racing motorbike accident. Since then, I've been navigating life with a disability and use a wheelchair full time.
In the past 4 years, I left the UK, backpacked around 18 countries, moved to Australia, and finished 4 marathons.
My recent London Marathon time puts me in the same league as the current world record holder, and I LOVE a challenge. So I will attempt to break the world record (race a sub-4-hour marathon) in my day chair at the Gold Coast Marathon 2027.
