World Class Kayak Academy is the school for me to be the best version of myself. It is a place where I can chase my dreams and push my limits, both mentally and physically, in an environment where I feel encouraged and supported. In these last two years of high school, I hope to discover more of who I am.
I realize that knowing yourself is a life-long progress, and I will continually discover who I am through different experiences. But I believe that by putting myself in places that make me feel more alive and happier, I will be able to more easily identify where I want to go with my life and who I wish to be. This includes figuring out who matters to me, and what causes I want to fight for. I want to have a dramatic impact on this world, but I am not sure yet what that impact will be. I want to give myself every opportunity to identify what I want to fight for. World Class would give me a chance to step out of the environment I have always lived in and experience life in a whole new way.
WCKA would also help me chase my personal dreams and goals. It would give me a chance to travel, meet new people, build more connections, and expand my understanding of the world. I would be challenged academically and also have the opportunity to learn outside the classroom. Finally, WCKA would fulfill all of my kayaking dreams. This academy would allow me to work toward becoming a world-class kayaker and dropping waterfalls on every continent. I want to strengthen my kayaking skills in all areas: creeking, river running, and freestyle.
If accepted to WCKA, the memories I make will have a dramatic impact on how I view the world. This experience will positively impact me by making me a stronger, better person: a person who appreciates others, understands how to effectively work in a team, and has a fiery passion for life. World Class would be a major step toward the world of adulthood. I can almost guarantee that I would never stop smiling while at World Class.
