My name is Kayla and I am 15 years old. I am participating in a school program called World Challenge to Namibia In 2026.

World Challenge is an organisation that gives young people the opportunity to travel to developing countries, explore the cultures and customs of the area, take part in a high altitude trek and gain global citizenship skills by supporting local community-based projects. Past projects have included building wells and classrooms for village schools; building facilities for orphanages & conservation projects to protect endangered wildlife and habitats.

The World Challenge organisation is focused on learning through experience as part of the build-up to the trip. A large part of that experience includes committing to paying for the challenge myself, through several different fundraising events.

I need to raise £3,000 to fund my entire expedition which includes flights, equipment, insurance etc. I hope to be able to raise this amount through various fundraising activities. I will organise bake sales, sell donated items on Vinted, and have loads of other ideas for events to help me achieve my goal. Over the next 12 months I will keep everyone up to date with my fundraising activities and my preparations to get ready for this trip to Namibia, on my Instagram page (@kaylaworldchallenge26).

I will send you a report on my trip and the community project we undertake on my return in so that you can see how your support has made a difference in Namibia.
