Workington Academy Performing Arts Danceathon

Donation protected
Workington Academy Performing Arts Department is trying to raise funds this year to improve the facilities in school within our performance space by purchasing new lights. This will enhance pupil experience and elevate the quality of our internal performances. Alongside this, we are also raising funds for costumes, props and transport for upcoming performances and projects.

To kick-start our fundraising, we are hosting a 24-hour Danceathon! Students will arrive at school at 7 pm on Friday 20th October and dance for 24 hours. They will take part in a series of workshops and explore various dance styles to create and produce a performance which will take place from 6 pm-7 pm on Saturday 21st October.

This year, we are working towards our annual Christmas Concerts in school and church. We are also performing at the Workington Light Switch On and are hoping to make further links with community groups following successes from last year. In the Spring Term, we will be taking part in U.Dance 2024, and a CET trust-wide performing arts event before beginning preparations for our Summer Showcase.

We would appreciate your support in improving our performance opportunities and the quality of our performance space as we continue to raise the profile of the Performing Arts within the Academy, inspiring students across the school.

Make sure to follow our social media for updates throughout the Danceathon, share this page and donate if you can.

Thank you in advance for your support!
