Hi, my name is Ian. I am a husband and a father to four children. Three little girls and one little boy. I work 40 hours a week as a mechanic and work for amazon part-time to make a little more money.

My wife stays home to take care of the childeren since daycare is too much. My son has a rare health condition, aldosterone deficiency type 2, which affects his sodium and potassium. He has low sodium and high potassium. You lose sodium when you sweat, go to the bathroom, get sick, whenever any liquid comes out of your body. When his sodium gets too low, he has seizures. He also has to get surgery on April 5 to remove two cancerous moles and one more surgery in 6 months because one of the moles is too big to remove at one time. We are trying to stay in the area, as his specialists are here and this is a rear condition.

Due to the housing crisis, we are currently without a home. Some nights we can get a hotel, and others, we sleep in our van. We have called every social service agency looking for help to find affordable housing, and there is no help available. We have contacted every apartment complex, and the waiting lists are months to years. We do not have months to years to wait. We have a small amount saved, but that is quickly dwindling as we have to spend that on hotels now every night. No matter how hard I work or how much I make, we will be short on housing expenses. We need help; the housing crisis is making it impossible to find a rental in a reasonable price range that most families can afford, which includes us. We have done everything we were supposed to do; we have income, savings, and no home.
