Workineh's Family Needs Your Help

Our names are Juli & Scott Evans and we are reaching out to you on behalf of our dear friend Workineh Zewdie. Workineh is an Ethiopian citizen currently living in UAE with his wife, Hanna, and two young children. They left Ethiopia in search of a better opportunity for their family. Workineh has been instrumental in helping us stay in contact with our adopted children's birth families in Ethiopia over many years.

We first met Workineh when we were searching to contact our boy's family in a very remote area of Ethiopia. We have since become close with Workineh and his family. He has helped us so many times and gone out of his way for all of our children. We have spent considerable time by his side in Ethiopia and you'd be hard pressed to find a more loving, father and friend.

Unfortunately, Workineh, along with his wife and young children have found themselves in a very bad financial situation and, as proud as he is, they are asking for help. They are currently in the UAE and unable to leave the country because of debt. We are working with him to create a long term plan for the family to return to Ethiopia so that Workineh can return to helping adoptive familes stay connected while at the same time supporting his own. While the debts are greater than the goal of this fundraiser, the goal is to provide Workineh with the opportunity to break the endless cycle that his family finds itself in. This is keeping them trapped in UAE with no path towards a future or a return to Ethiopia. Until some debts are satisfied, the family has been banned from travel outside of UAE where there are little to no opportunities for Workineh's employment.
