Since 2015, Wooster School in Danbury, CT, has developed a partnership with the Rashmi Secondary School in Kathmandu, Nepal. Wooster collaborates with Rashmi on projects that directly benefit Rashmi students, many of whom experience significant poverty. Wooster students and faculty helped develop the early childhood program, built a computer lab with computers, and built a new playground. In October 2016, Wooster hosted Rashmi administrators for 3 weeks to further our partnership. What is so great about this partnership is that Wooster and Rashmi teach and learn from each other in so many different ways.
This June, we are heading to Kathmandu again to help build a new science lab, to develop experimental science curriculum, introduce some of the ‘Making Thinking Visible’ concepts for teachers, and Wooster students are working together with five students from Rashmi to create a new library-which was an idea that came directly from Rashmi students. We are talking with Rashmi students via Skype before we go to plan this with them. In order for us to be able to do this work with Rashmi we need your support!
Please help us to reach our goal of $20,000 so that we can keep our partnership strong and can continue to support Rashmi School!
