The devastating news came last night that my Uncle Scott, Aunt Ilene, & cousins Luke and Patrick lost their family home and all of their belongings to the Woolsey Fire. Their entire life, all their memories and belongings, gone in the blink of an eye. You hear about the fires and you just never think it will happen to you. Our family is devastated by this news. My uncle bought a bare piece of land over 30 years ago & lived with his family in a trailer saving and slowly building their dream home. My dad and uncle physically helped build his house from the ground up, and this news is just shattering. My little cousin was actually supposed to have his birthday party there on Friday, and my uncle had just bought a brand new ping pong table and games for the kids.
