Woody Blackburn was Hit by a Car, broken back

Woody "Cutz Rocks" Blackburn was hit by a car in downtown North San Juan yesterday.

He was airlifted to Sutter Roseville Hospital where it was determined that he has a broken back.

I talked to him briefly on the phone today... He may have other injuries but he couldn't talk very long.

(Update: Woody has a shattered knee and broken leg in addition to a broken back. Thank you for your support.)

The driver was arrested for a DUI.

Woody is one of the coolest grumpy old guys I've ever met... Missing a bunch of fingers, the grizzly ol' bastard just keeps on kickin. He's 70-something, I'm not sure, but might as well be 150. He lives in a little RV up the hill with no electricity where he makes interesting art out of duck feathers, coyote skulls and turquoise. You've probably seen him hitchhiking the 49. If you talked to him, he probably showed some pretty rocks.

It's highly doubtful he will be able to return to that lifestyle any time soon, if ever, after this accident.

We're not sure what's to come for Woody... This will certainly change the rest of his life...

If anybody can donate something to help him out, he and his family and friends would appreciate it. His medical expenses are sure to be MUCH more than this fundraiser will be able to put aside for him but a little cash in his pocket to help with short-term expenses would help him out immensely.
