Woodward Hill Elementary choir program April 2025

Elementary choir offers young students a unique and enriching experience, providing a foundation in music education while fostering a sense of community. Participating in choir helps children develop critical skills such as teamwork, discipline, and perseverance, as they learn to blend their voices harmoniously with others. It also enhances their cognitive abilities, improving memory and concentration through the practice of reading music and memorizing lyrics. Additionally, being part of a choir boosts self-esteem and confidence, as students perform in front of audiences and take pride in their collective achievements. Overall, elementary choir nurtures a lifelong appreciation for music and the arts, contributing to the holistic development of young learners.
Woodward Hill Elementary choir is fortunate to be able to provide this experience for their students. The group consists of approximately 100 students and regularly perform for their fellow students at special events such as Remembrance Day and Christmas. Additionally, they can share their talents with the community, performing at care homes, shopping malls and public gatherings. This year, we have an amazing opportunity to perform at the Cantando Music Festival in Whistler B.C. April 2025.
This prestigious festival includes choir groups from all over and our Woodward Hill choir group is looking forward to both performing and seeing a range of talent and abilities. This festival is not a contest but a venue to highlight their talents and have the opportunity for adjudication and feedback to further strengthen their talents.
As this is our biggest performance to date with travel involved, we are hoping to raise funds to support our students and families to attend without worry and hardship. Most importantly, we want to ensure all students can attend.
We hope you will consider supporting this amazing opportunity and experience for our students. No amount is too small, and every bit will help. THANK YOU!
