Woodvale Cricket Club was founded in 1887 and is one of the last remaining inner City Clubs in Belfast.
The Club fields four senior teams in the Northern Cricket Union leagues and the First XI has recently returned the the Premier League.
In 2021 we will continue with a main focus on youth cricket and are due to field junior sides for the first time in many years.
A great number of improvements have been made to the facilities at Ballygomartin Road in recent times and we are keen to ensure that we keep growing from strength to strength.
The various lockdowns have been taken as an opportunity to regroup and to rededicate ourselves. We are very fortunate to have a group of committed and enthusiastic members who constantly go above and beyond to ensure that the Club is a place that we can all be proud of.
The Covid 19 Pandemic has taken its toll on all sectors within society. Like all hospitality establishments our bar has been closed for significant periods of time. This has greatly reduced an important source of income. We have many kind and generous sponsors who have been very good to us in the past when called upon. We appreciate that times have been as tough if not tougher for them.
This year, like a number of other local Clubs, we are running a gofundme campaign to try and help raise funds to replace lost income. The monies raised will hopefully meet the sizable cost of supplying cricket balls to each of our teams for the coming season.
We would ask our valued members, their friends and associates to give what they can to assist us in meeting our target.
We are hopeful of having a full season without interruption in which we can finally all get back to what we love and enjoy.
We are so thankful for all help and support. We look forward to seeing of you as many as possible at Ballygomartin Road this summer.
