My boss is in desparate need of help.
Last night, a storm hit Kansas resulting in major flooding. This flooding affected my boss and her wonderful family whose home is underwater.
Although they have insurance, both insurance companies stated that they will not cover the damage because the damage was deemed to be caused by groundwater flooding.
Mrs. Wood is a wonderful woman, and below is her facebook page post shortly after the family's five hour rescue ordeal.
"The Lord gives and the Lord takes away.... and now I pause... I thank the Lord for the safety of each family member, the love of married children who are working to help us with the next steps. All of the emergency crews and Red Cross that were working throughout the night to rescue us safely. Propane lines broke and were bubbling into the fIood waters, electricity had to be shut off to the entire farm from the power company, then there was the speed of the current that he rescue crew was fighting all night trying to get each of us out of the home (a 5-hour process ). My new cow is stranded in a trailer that is up out of the water but surrounded by water. The goats are stranded on the front porch of the home. I would like to find a way to rescue my cow and goats and am trusting the Lord that He knows and cares! It's out of my control. The entire farm is under water. I held it together until I saw Danny's Boys train laying on its side covered in water... The tears began to fall and then I spoke to my Soul and said, "I will bless the Name of the Lord!" Give me time friends, and I'll have my work boots on and be back at Life.. tackling it with a smile and determination!!!"
As you can see, she is a very strong woman, but even strong people need help. What they have lost can be replaced. Lets help them in that process.
No matter how large or how small your donation, every little bit will help this family.
Here is a video of the house and water.
