Wood Terrace Families-Hurricane Ida damage
Donation protected
Friends and neighbors, five Leonia families on Wood Terrace suffered tremendous damage to their homes and cars during the storm on Wednesday night.
One family has been displaced due to water damage in the interior of their home and at least two other families have lost cars. All are incurring the immediate significant expenses of cleanup and recovery, including towing, hotel and meals, replacement of major home appliances and systems, dumpster and hauling fees, and disinfection and cleaning costs. Many have lost furniture and personal items and will also face reconstruction costs. My sister Jen Mahoney and her family are among those affected; any funds raised will be split evenly among all five families.
One thing I know about our town is that Leonians often reach out to help each other in times of need. Any small amount of help that you are able to give will be greatly appreciated. Let’s flood them with love.
