Wondrous Love: A Choir Project
Donation protected
Hello friends!
As many of you know, I'm an aspiring choir director here in NYC. Over the past few years, I have conducted choirs at Vassar College, First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Poughkeepsie, Camp Encore-Coda in Maine, and most recently a few different children's choirs here in NYC: the St. Michael's Church Angel Choir, the Urban Children's Choir, and the Girls Choir at Gloria's House Family Transitional Residence.
This fall, I'm putting together a concert of my own, entitled "What Wondrous Love: A Celebration of American Choral Music."
It will feature my favorite composers from the vibrant American Choral tradition: Alice Parker, Stephen Paulus, Moses Hogan, William Billings and traditional Shape-Note selections from Southern Harmony!
But to make this dream a reality, I need funds. I will be renting a space, paying my singers, and purchasing a good deal of sheet music.
Anything you can contribute towards my financial goal would be deeply appreciated. This project will provide me with invaluable conducting experience and video material, bringing me closer to my goal of applying to a Choral Conducting Masters program.
I have dreamed of conducting my own choir for years, and would be forever grateful for your support as I work to make this dream a reality!
THE DETAILS:
When: November (Date+Time TBA)
Where: St. Michael's Church Hall, 225 W 99th St.
Check back for further updates!
