Hello, this is Melissa Novak (45), we were coworkers and I got close with her while she was fighting for her life in 2016/2017. She was battling stage 2b breast cancer.
I remember coming over to her house, while she was going through chemo and although she lost all her beautiful long hair and was in pain,
she never felt sorry for herself and she always looked forward. She made us laugh and I remember thinking, I have never met a stronger person in my life.
I have met a lot of strong women but nobody like Melissa.
She is a single mom of Allison (10) and Jimmy (15) and survived cancer once. The last 6 years have been a constant fight for her. She loves the outdoors, camping
and is an animal lover.
But Melissa is not done yet with her fight. Melissa just got the devastating diagnosis that the cancer is back.
I can't express the feelings she has getting this diagnosis again. Devastating is far from it. After 6 years of fighting, not only overcoming 14 surgeries,
16 rounds of chemo, going septic twice, having to declare bankruptcy and trying to be the best mom she can be to her 2 kids, working full time,
she has to be strong and go through it all again.
This time the cancer came back stronger, more tumors, possible level 3 b or c and waiting for a confirmation on cervical cancer.
She was looking forward to her final breast reconstruction this year, but now she has to focus on surviving again. Melissa still has to go through alot of tests
to see how many tumors there are and where.
Her surgery is scheduled for September 2022 and she will go through chemo Therapy shortly after. This time she will have to go through radiation as well.
Melissa went through so much in the last 6 years, not only did the chemo damage her nervous system but, she is in constant pain that has taken a toll on her.
Her two kids Allison and Jimmy have been by her side. She always makes sure they live a normal life as much as possible. She is extremely proud of both Jim and Allison. Jim is a Sophomore this year, and is on track to graduate High School with his associates degree. Allison has Dreams of working at Nasa.
But the fear of losing their mother is back, one more time.
Melissa needs your help!
Knowing everything that she will have to go through, all the appointments, multiple rounds of chemo and radiation, Melissa had to make a hard decision and
go out on disability indefinitely.
This is putting big pressure and stress on her, being a single mom already having a hard time making ends meets.
Please help this amazing human being and support her fight so she can focus on beating the cancer and not have to worry at the same time about finances.
Any donation will help.
