As many of you may already know, Noah’s uncle, Dean, has recently been diagnosed with glioblastoma, a serious form of brain cancer. He has been receiving treatment in St. John’s for the past few weeks, but the next stage of his journey requires him to travel to Germany for specialized treatment not available here in Canada.
For those who know Noah, you’ll know he has been an avid runner since he was 9 years old. His uncle Dean shares that same passion — just three years ago, Dean ran The Strand and a 50 km beach stretch near Cartwright, Labrador, as part of a fundraising event organized by our NunatuKavut to support diabetes.
Now, Noah wants to follow in his uncle’s footsteps. On October 4th, Noah will run The Strand once again — this time, not for diabetes, but to raise funds to help his uncle Dean access the life-saving treatment he needs in Germany.
We’re so grateful to share that the NunatuKavut is supporting Noah with a team of helpers on the day of the run, as well as boat transportation.
Our goal is to raise as much as possible as the treatment costs over $60 000.00.
Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will help Dean get closer to the care he needs.
