Wonderful mom of 3 needs your prayers and help

Our dear friend Sabina Kuchma 32 years old was 29 weeks pregnant when she contracted Covid-19 in Mid December. Within just a few days the virus progressed rapidly within her body, her condition quickly worsened. She was taken to the St. Peters Hospital in New Brunswick and was placed on a ventilator. Quickly after her lungs continued to deteriorate and she was air transferred to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. While there she was placed on the ECMO machine. ECMO is a heart-lung bypass machine, which oxygenates the blood and then pumps it back into the patient’s body. It acts as Sabina’s lungs because her own lungs had quit working. ECMO is used as a lifesaving device, supporting the patient until the body recovers enough to function on its own. She has been on the ECMO Machine since December 19, 2021.

 

On December 25, a Christmas miracle has happened, and Sabina gave birth (at almost 32 weeks), while in induced coma, to a baby girl! The baby has been taken to the NICU and placed on breathing support to assist with developing her premature lungs. Luckily, the baby is stable. Now we continue to pray for Sabina's recovery and hopeful that she can be taken off the ECMO machine soon. The family was informed that once that happens, the recovery will be long and costly. Months of rehabilitation and therapy will be required. Please help us raise funds to help Sabina with her recovery. Sabina's husband is currently the only one working while taking care of their two boys, 5 and 4 years old, while impatiently waiting to be allowed to visit his newborn daughter.

 

Unfortunately Vlad and Sabina don't have a helping hand of their parents because they are overseas and won't be able to visit any time soon due to delays in immigration and traveling restrictions.
