For our lovely friend Georgie Sayers…
We may have only known Georgie a short time but she has had a huge impact on all our lives. This lady is one of the most courageous, strong, lovely individuals in the Walton on the hill community.
Georgie is in need of medical help to prolong her life from this awful disease that we all hear about way to much, yes Georgie has stage 4 bowel cancer and has been fighting this since her diagnosis in February 2024. She has had to undergo many rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy under the Royal Marsden in Sutton and has now travelled to Munich to have a personalised immunotherapy where treatment leverages your body’s own immune system to target cancer cells, particularly effective where the body has been resistant to traditional chemo. Georgie is now back and enduring more rounds of chemo.
This is all whilst being a wonderful mother to her three children and what a credit they are to her. I can hand on heart say that Thomas is one of the reasons my son wants to go to school.
We want nothing more than to see Georgie skate up to school on those leopard print roller skates with that infectious smile on her face knowing she has fought that fight and beaten this awful nasty disease.
We might not be able to help in the ways we wish we could but we can help to raise money to provide the medical support Georgie needs.
However If at any point it is clear that the treatment options available to Georgie are not possible in prolonging her life the funding will be used to look after Georgie to make her as comfortable as possible and to create some treasured memories with husband Dave and her children.
We as 6 mums from school have decided to endure a challenge of our own to raise this money. 6 mums some who train every week and some that haven't trained in a very long time will be completing the commando challenge on Saturday 11th October at Hever castle. We will be running 6k whilst fighting through mud slides, diving down under tyres and floating on lord only knows what but we will laugh at every hurdle we promise to run our hardest and fight as hard as we can all for the lovely Georgie.
Please dig as dip as you can in to your pockets and raise as much as we can.
Lots of love
