Help Mercedes Kick Cancer to the Curb

Although this was a collective effort of friends and colleagues that we’ll call Wonder Woman Warriors. For those of you who don’t know Mercedes LeAnza, here’s a short description that only scratches the surface, really… Mercedes is a powerhouse producer with infectious positivity, a sparkling personality, the fabulousness, the gold accessories, the perfect amount of silliness wrapped up in a glamorous package of always camera-ready awesomeness. She’s the best kind of friend, colleague, woman, you could hope to have in your life. Whether it be via a pep talk, heart-felt advice, a helping hand, a well-timed laugh or coming in on time and under budget, she’s made an impact on so many of us, so many times.  It’s time for us to come together and remind her just how loved she is as she embarks on her most difficult journey yet. Let’s spread the word, spread the hope and spread her positivity to help make this all just a little bit easier for our real life Wonder Woman. The BackstoryMercedes was recently diagnosed with a rare & aggressive cancer called Cholangiocarcinoma (aka Bile Duct Cancer) at the age of 39. This cancer is no joke and it will require her to undergo chemotherapy in the coming months. That said, in true Mercedes fashion, she’s prepped and ready to FIGHT. To be quite honest, if we were the cancer, we would be scared, because it’s about to get its A$$ kicked by Wonder Woman herself! This news sparked an overwhelming response from adoring friends and colleagues asking for ways to help. So, we decided to put this GoFundMe together to see just how BIG we can go when we all come together for our dear friend and colleague. The Plan (updated as of November 2021)Our original goal was $10k to cover a 6-month meal plan of 3 meals a day that will last the duration of her treatment and is aligned with her ideal diet plan so it’s one less thing to think about ($6k all in) + medical expenses, therapies, fun activities & gifts that we will tailor to her wants & needs along her road to recovery. Including cleaning services, dog walkers, spa essentials, at-home nail appointments, etc. Then (and not sure why this surprised us) we ended up quadrupling our goal in less than 1 week!! Now, 5 months later, we’ve reset our goal to $60k because as she continues to fight & new therapies become available, we want her to know that any option is possible.
