Women -Owned Small Businesss Study

Despite the industry and occupation in which the women small business owner is included there exist challenges in women small businesses obtaining federal procurement opportunities. This is especially of interest since there is mandated legislation established by the United States government exclusively affording women-owned small businesses (WOSB)federal procurement opportunities (Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act of 1994, 1994).  The WOSB Program intent was to eliminate disparities women small business encountered. However, it is obvious the implementation is not equally adhered to by all federal agencies procurement acquisition professionals due to the failure to achieve this mandated goal. Minorities, females and other disadvantaged small business owners all concur that acquiring federal procurement opportunities is a challenge. Research which pertains to women and minorities receiving procurement opportunities is limited. The Federal Government mandates that a goal of 5 percent of federal procurement opportunities to be set aside solely for women-owned small business. This goal had only been met once in 2015 .This study will provide value-added information to women seeking these opportunities. The value offered to society by women entrepreneurs is substantial as they contribute to the advancement and establishment of our economy irrespective of their race.

I am working on my Doctoral degree and  I am conducting a study in regards to helping women-owned small business to obtain federal procurement opportunities.  This study will explore the lived experiences women encounter in obtaining business opportunities for women small business owners and their experiences regarding measures they take to enhance sustainability. Additionally, this study will capture any shared knowledge, provides positive contribution as it pertains to women-owned businesses securing federal procurement opportunities. I figure I will need approximately $ 15,000.00 to complete my remaining dissertation related classes.  I would be grateful for any funding offered regardless of the amount
